Kimpton’s Save Our White Horse to host ‘pop-up pub’ on Friday 29 September 2023

Campaign excited to hold the 3rd of its popular pub events

The campaign group working to restore Kimpton’s The White Horse is hosting its 3rd Pop-Up Pub event on Friday 29 September  from 6.00 – 11.00 pm at local venue The Dacre Rooms on Kimpton High Street.

The evening will feature the usual fabulous range of traditional ales as well as quality lagers, wines, spirits and a range of delicious snacks. Live music will be provided throughout the evening by talented local musicians.

Explaining the purpose of this latest event, campaign group member Doug Jenner said:

“It’s very exciting to know that there is such incredible local support for our campaign.
This community wants its pub back. That much is obvious, as has been shown by the fantastic roll-up to our events. We hope you can make it along to catch up with friends over a few drinks, listen to some great music and find out what’s happening with the campaign.”

Registered as an ‘Asset of Community Value’, the 17th Century Grade 2 listed White Horse, was sold by McMullen’s in 2014, and since then has had two change-of-use planning applications for residential use rejected. The most recent of these, in 2021, was soundly rejected without going to planning committee.

Music on the night will be provided by ‘Ellie Smith & Tim Randall’ and ‘Kimpton Unplugged’.
