Save Our White Horse campaign hosting local event at The Dacre Rooms, Kimpton
The campaign group working to restore Kimpton’s The White Horse is hosting a Pop-Up Pub event on Friday 9 December from 6.30 – 11.00 pm at local venue The Dacre Rooms on Kimpton High St.
Registered as an ‘Asset of Community Value’, the 17th Century Grade 2 listed White Horse, was sold by McMullen’s in 2014, and since then has had two change-of-use planning applications for residential use rejected. The first one was also rejected at appeal and the most recent of these, in 2021, was soundly rejected without going to planning committee.
Explaining the purpose of the event, Ian Neilson – Chair of the Save Our White Horse group said:
“There is incredibly strong community support for the work we are doing to deliver The White Horse back to its community.
“Our Pop Up Pub will be a fantastic way to engage with our community, sampling some great local beers and letting people know more about the campaign. Everyone is welcome.”
